The internet is very much a tool that the Christians have
proven willing to use to get their message out. There are a vast number
of sites out their and more coming all the time. Sorting them out,
and avoiding the heritics may prove to be challenging, but there are many
valuable sites out there. I have tried to collect a few good, or at least
interesting ones here. I have also tried to avoid favoring one
flavor of Christianity over another. I am Presbyterian, but I doubt
that any modern theology provides the one true path at the exclusion of the
others. To the extent that you believe the Bible reflects the actual
speech of Jesus, you can believe you have all the information you need. One
church versus another can perhaps expand that knowledge, or present it in
a way you prefer, but the basic message remains the same. He said:
"Love me, love God, love your neighbor as yourself. Come to me as a
child. Leave your worldly possessions and ways to follow me."
Paradoxically, the very simple message, from a very complex
man has proved to be extrememly difficult to translate into action.
So, where do we go from here? Well, if you want
to see some of the many ways Christianity is presented on the internet, follw
some of these links. If you are looking for Christianity and Christians,
you may find what you seek. If you are looking for God in the internet,
you will be disappointed.
So, ready to go looking? Pack a lunch, there is a lot to
see.
Want to see what is up in Jerusalem? www.jerusalem.muni.il This is the municiple
site for the city of Jerusalem. I saw 33 churches listed on the "Sites"
area the last time I dropped in. You can kill some real time poking
around here.
Want to see a really great church that is actually accomplishing
something? Me too. No, seriously, You can probably find a good
one by starting here, at
the Presbyterian Synod of the Sun, or any Presbyterian Church in
your area.
There is so much to see out there it boggles the mind.
More links are going up all the time. There are archaeology sites,
dating sites, prayer rings, music sites, monks, abbeys, radicals and conservatives.
