Essays

What an odd word to describe written forays into thought.  A word borrowed from French; it looks odd out there by itself.  This section is for essays written by friends, aquaintences, or myself, and/or links to those essays.  Where allowed by the author, the author's name, email address and/or other methods for contact are listed.  If they are not listed, they are not available.  The purpose of this section is to provide a place and a method by which interested parties can express their opinions.  (More on this at the bottom of the page. )

I expect this section to grow slowly.  I have had this domain for a few years now and it grows a bit at a time.  I hope that over time this section of my site grows in popularity.  I would love to see more and more contributions by other people.  (It will save me the effort of producing content and will no doubt be more interesting than my own work.)

I have two simple criteria governing posting essays here: any essay posted here will not include language not suitable for audiences below the age of 13, and any essay posted here will not threaten the peace.  I am the judge as to whether or not an essay posted here meets these requirements.  I may not, often will not, agree with the ideas, or opinions posted here, but that is not one of the requirements.  Any idea worth expressing can be expressed in terms acceptable to all readers.  Some things are better left unsaid.  It is far easier to hold your tongue, than to unsay something.  Some ideas are dangerous not because they are thought provoking, but because they have the pontential to matches in the hands of babes or delinquents.  There are forums for that sort of thing, this just does not happen to be one of them.  To get an essay posted here, contact me at doug@dougriddle.com.

The essays and articles posted herein remain the property of their creators who are free to post or publish elsewhere as well.   I will retain the emails requesting the post as permission to post the work.  Aside from this forum, no further use of their work is planned at this time.  If any other use is ever planned, I will post that information here.
